Hurakia Lodge on Rakino is a building of stunning, contemporary, architectural form which boasts spectacular 300 degree views of the water and surrounding islands. Built to the highest architectural standards, Hurakia is eco friendly and 100% self-sufficient—it generates power from solar panels on the roof and collects its own water from rainfall.

There is no road access to the tranquil surroundings of this 20-acre island sanctuary which ensures complete privacy and a truly luxurious, secluded escape.

The Lodge has five double bedrooms, spacious indoor and outdoor living areas, a swimming pool, spa and library. Beauty treatments and your own Private Chef are available if required.

Explore by mountain bike, walking track or kayak; fish off the local reefs or let us fly you further afield for some Heli-Fishing at Great Barrier. If rest and relaxation are required, simply indulge in the pool and spa or recharge with a good book and the view—the choice is yours.

Private and Corporate Groups, Special Occasions and Weddings

Hurakia caters for up to 20 guests for a formal, sit-down, dining experience and larger parties with informal buffet or BBQ-style lunches or dinners. It is available as a day and evening event venue and for overnight accommodation (2-night minimum stay applies).

Catering, transport and team building options can be arranged for private and corporate groups.

Hurakia offers an intimate wedding venue for small groups and is a fitting pre-wedding escape for the bride-to-be to receive some much needed pampering!
