From $5,900 – Nothing rivals the unreal experience of fishing directly off the rocks at a remote location you can only access via Heletranz Helicopter.
As Heli-Fishing pioneers with over 30 years of expertise, we know this feeling better than anyone and can host groups both large or small, for the most unforgettable, fish of a lifetime – with the catch to prove it!
The Hauraki Gulf and surrounding islands have some of the best fishing in the world, the sub-tidal reefs of the North-East Coastline and Great Barrier have a rich and diverse marine habitat which supports numerous species of fish including Snapper, Kahawai and Kingfish.
Depart from our Heliport in Albany, Auckland and head out to one of our chosen fishing spots, flying over the islands of the Hauraki Gulf with a bird’s eye view of the exquisite scenery making up the land and seascape below, sometimes even spying dolphins, whales and sting-rays.
Once landed – the helicopter and highly knowledgeable pilot will stay with you as your guide throughout the trip. Whether you’re an experienced angler or total newbie, the pilot will be on hand where you need, so you can focus on having an excellent time reeling in the catch of the day.
We provide all the fishing equipment you’ll need including: top quality spinning reels and 10ft graphite rod, as well as tackle and bait.
Bottled water and a fisherman’s lunch are included in the cost— you’re most welcome to bring your own few beers to complement if you like.
After four hours of ‘lines in the water’ fishing, we’ll wrap up and fly back across the same breathe-taking scenery, to our base at Heletranz – complete with your full bounty in tow. Total trip time approximately 5-6 hours.
Heli-fishing is the perfect activity for Corporate Rewards/Entertainment, as well as a levelled up way to have a good ol’ fish with your mates at one of the best fishing spots in New Zealand.
The fine print! – What you need to know:
Heli-fishing is a unique, memorable and an often exciting experience but the thrill of fishing from rocks in otherwise hard to reach locations comes with some risk. In the interest of your own safety and those fishing with you, Heletranz asks that you please take a few moments to read this document that highlights some of the hazards that may be encountered on your Heli-Fishing experience.
Your pilot has considerable Heli-Fishing experience, is aware of likely hazards, is trained in first aid and the helicopter carries a first aid kit for minor injuries. Possible hazards include;
Pre-existing Medical Conditions.
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions – especially any associated with balance, then please make these known to the pilot or receptionist before departure.
Uneven surfaces.
All rock surfaces are uneven especially around the water line. Plant material might hide holes that may result in a twisted ankle or create slip hazards resulting in falls.
Slippery surfaces.
Please take care when moving about. Wet surfaces may be slippery and falls can result in cuts, abrasions or in worst case, broken limbs.
Over balance – especially when casting lines.
Please ensure that your feet are firmly planted and that you remain balance while casting.
Landing fish
Retrieving and/or netting fish is possibly the most hazardous operation.
Slippery surfaces, over balance and unexpected wave motion can result in falling, falling related injuries or toppling into the water.
Fish hooks
Hook injuries can occur during baiting, casting or while removing hooks from caught fist. If you become hooked, please call the pilot who is trained in hook extraction (if required) and first aid.
Emergencies
Should an emergency occur that is unable to be dealt with at the scene, the pilot is authorised to cancel the Heli-Fishing trip and evacuate the injured person to the closest medical care by the fastest means possible.
If in doubt concerning any issue, please ask our team.
